We’re delighted to present you a great new feature on Ibanez-Vintage.Net:

The Ibanez, Fujigen Gakki & Matsumoku Serial Archive

It’s based on the long time work of ICW Member Scruggser77 (many, many thanks!) and contains more than 7400 serial numbers of guitars made in the Fujigen Gakki Factory from the mid 70s to late 80s until Hoshino/Ibanez changed their serial system and also moved to other factories like Terada and others.
In addition to the serials, the database also contains information about the guitar model, the finish and the brand.

Why the brand? It’s important to know, that Fujigen Gakki did not only produce guitars for Hoshino/Ibanez, but also for a variety of other brands like Greco, Roland, Aria Pro II, Antoria, CSL and others.
They all share the same serial number system consisting of a starting letter determining the month (A = January, B = February etc.), two numbers defining the year and a four digit number determining the overall number of the guitar in this months production run. So, the number doesn’t say anything about how many of that particular model were made this month or even the brand.

But for us Ibanez players, fans & collectors this serial archive can be a great source of information.

And even better: The database isn’t static:
You and every registered member of Ibanez-Vintage.net is invited to contribute to this site and share the serial numbers of his guitars plus its specs and some other information maybe about modifications, the owner or if the guitar has been stolen etc.
Registered users are able to add their own serials/guitars to the database.
Guitars/Serials entered, first have to be reviewed by an administrator, before they will added to main database.

So the serial archive has the potential to become a powerful tool for all owners of Ibanez vintage guitars and all others owning axes made at the Fujigen Gakki plant.
